Because they want all their Bill’s paid for by the government without realizing the negative byproducts. China and North Korea I know for sure are not socialist they’re communist which is much worse and more prone to dictatorships than socialism. The only way countries like China thrive is off capitalist foreign trade and foreign businesses opening in their country. North Korea is most certainly not thriving however. The common person there lives in poverty, and not the American version of poverty either. People in North Korea are imprisoned and/or tortured to death for speaking out against anything they disagree with relative to the government or nation. Capitalism is certainly not perfect either but it’s better than being executed just for thinking different. In socialist countries the misconception is that things like health care are free, but it has to be paid for somehow, which means heavy taxes which means health care you may not need for many years gets taxed on everyone’s paycheck anyway. In a socialist or communist state you’re not allowed to be an individual with your own ideas. At least with capitalism you can spend most of your money your way, taxation is theft and in socialism all of your money, labor, and you are owned by the state.
