Fergusson states that the Diablo Immortal team is going to be paying closely to PC players’ response to the new control scheme when the beta launches June 2. In addition to D2R Items the mouse-driven interface that Diablo games have utilized for decades, Immortal is throwing in some other options for PC players.One is one that is a WASD movement system that switches out the left-click-to move system that was used in previous Diablo games to a direct control movement system.
“WASD was conceived as a pure manifestation of Diablo Immortal being a mobile-first game,” Joe Grubb, Immortal’s chief game designer, informs us. “In mobile, you’re in direct control of your character’s abilities and skills can be utilized while moving. It’s much smoother to be able to interact with that.”
“Direct control comes with this aspect to it,” Fergusson adds. “When you’re playing with mouse click – – which is indeed there! You’re like a benevolent deity floating about your persona, saying ‘go there to that place, do this, do this. ‘”
Diablo Immortal will also feature gamepad support, first introduced by Diablo within the version for consoles of Diablo 3. Fergusson mentioned that his first time playing the game made him happy to Diablo 2 Resurrected Buy Items add the feature into Diablo 2: Resurrected, and now it’ll be accessible to both mobile and PC versions of Diablo Immortal.
