In Diablo 2 Resurrected, the remake of the 2000 hack & slay classic and its expansion Lord of Destruction, players can once again immerse themselves in Blizzard’s genre-defining game and experience the action in a contemporary guise. In this special, you’ll learn everything you need to know about the basics of the game.

This is what this page says: This section of the article gives you a detailed overview some basic things like gold, your private gold treasure (loot chest), scrolls, waypoints and the belt.

Gold

Gold has long been the only reliable currency in the world of Sanctuary. This precious metal is melted into small pieces of gold, which are then pressed and stamped with the heraldry of the kingdom that created them. Every coin in all kingdoms has the same value, regardless of the shape or size of the coin.

Your character can carry 10,000 gold per level. For example, a 10th level character can carry up to 100,000 gold. A level 99 character can carry 990,000 gold. The maximum amount of gold a character can carry including the storage space in the private gold hoard is 3,490,000 at level 99. Gold does not share space with Diablo 2 Ladder items or weapons in your inventory (backpack) as it did in Diablo.

If you are killed, your character loses a percentage of all the gold both worn and stored in the treasure chest. This percentage will be equal to your character’s level, but will not exceed 20%. After this “death penalty” is subtracted, the remaining gold that your character was carrying in their inventory when they died will fall to the ground in a pile. If the penalty exceeds the amount of gold you were carrying, the remainder of the penalty will be deducted from your inventory.

In single player mode, dying will not use up your entire gold supply. No gold is lost from your stash, and 500 gold per character level is exempt from the death penalty. For example, if a 10th level single player character dies with 5,000 gold, they will not lose any gold.

Diablo II Resurrected Private gold treasure

Near your starting location in each of the five acts you’ll find a large chest – your private gold treasure. It’s a safe, permanent place where you can store all the valuable items and gold you find during your adventures. Use this stash to store any items you want to keep but don’t want to take up space in your inventory. Items left on the floor will disappear after a few minutes!

You are the only one who can access your chest. No other player can look inside or access your treasure for any reason. The D2R items for sale in your chest are saved during the game and when you exit the game. You only have to worry about losing items in your stash if you die in Hardcore mode.

Storage capacity of gold

  • There is a limit of 2,500,000 gold that can be stored in your stash.
  • Treasure chest across acts and difficulty levels
  • Items in your stash will carry over across acts. The same items and amount of gold will remain in your stash regardless of act or difficulty.

Shared Chest Space

Since Diablo 2 Resurrected, shared treasure chest space has been available for the first time, but only among non-ranked characters.
