Oh give me a break. It’s not like the Toronto cast of Godspell didn’t alter the history of the American musical theater.

Hedwig and the Angry Inch. Not so far behind is Passing Strange. Luckily there are film versions of both if you never got to see them live.

I thought Book of Mormon was just brilliant.  Maybe not best of all time, but… so, so good.

I have to go with Little Shop of Horrors or BatBoy – both contemporary musicals that don’t feel dated.

Hedwig is also a strong contender…

No such thing. Musicals are unnatural and should be banned. They are cornball beyond belief. People who like them are naive Polly Annas. People who perform in them are attention whores.
