Science has a fundamental faith in the empirical, and when people blindly accept scientific knowledge as truth this form of “science” becomes a type of religion, but blindly accepting scientific knowledge as truth is actually contrary to a core concept of science which requires that all scientific knowledge is theoretical/hypothetical and subject to future revision/elaboration/qualification if anomalies/shortcomings are found in the current best scientific theory/knowledge and especially if new or revised theories can better explain what is observed.
