Companies ARE really anal like that. Since companies are a reflection of the society they operate in, business heads (who are mostly male) have a belief that a man is worth much more than $10 per hour and is therefore a bargain.
Where societies are structured differently, such as Iceland, the wage gap is much smaller particularly with the population under 35.
Is this because Icelandic women are naturally much smarter than women from other countries?
