USPS is run horribly, bleeds money, and is inefficient. Is it time to let the private sector handle our mail?

Private sector typically does a better job.

The government technically ‘runs’ the USPS, but it doesn’t fund it. It’s pretty much the only thing Congress runs that works.

If you want to use public sector delivery, use UPS and FedEx. You’ll do it once because it’s expensive as hell.

The private sector has delivery services. (Fed Ex, UPS, etc.)…

They DON’T do what the Post Office does. That is: Deliver to EVERYONE, ANYWHERE.

The Post Office also did completely fine on their finances until in 2006, the Republican Congress (in an effort to gut the USPS) passed a law that mandated that required the USPS to pre-fund its Retiree Health Benefits Fund for more than seven decades out into the future – all within ten years.

THE STORY BEHIND THE GOP WAR ON USPS

Funny how you blame the GOP for a bill that had two Democrat cosponsors, and was passed by voice vote in the House, and unanimous consent in the Senate… but hey, whatever it takes to distort an issue, right?

Facts have no business here.
