In the internet age should University be radically re-designed?

What is the justification for excessive tuition fees and elitist rituals? University should be free (or ultra-low cost) and open sourced.  Education should be more problem-based and interdisciplinary.  University should be a global forum.  The curriculum should be the world’s problems.

I think they should teach informatics instead of religion in highschool.

But I guess your getting at the idea of university lessons being either streamed or held on video recordings accessable from home?

I think that there already are a few such programs. If your interested you should look more into that matter.

Please make yourself more clear as to what you mean should be “radically restructured“.

Ah wait I’m new to this.

Yes I think education should be free or at least affordable.

It makes sense to make as much knowledge as possible actually accessable to as many people as possible.

For example I noticed that a lot of professional literature is found on google/books but only a few pages are available. And if you want to read the full book you’d have to spend a lot of money.

There is of course literature that is available for free (educational purposes) depending on which major you are taking.

If you’d like to read something of your own accord though it’s sometimes very difficult to get that knowledge for free.

What I found especially interesting regarding this was that when I was searching for educational literature on google/play both the books that were in english and the ones that were in my language were very expensive. The books that were in korean however seemed to be free.
