Add To Mount Rushmore?

According to a Rassmussen poll, 21 percent of Democrats want Barack Obama added to Mount Rushmore. While this is obviously absurd (Carter and Nixon would both be more deserving presidents, frankly) it does pose an interesting question of whether any more recent presidents are “iconic” enough to be included. I say no.

No. No, no, no. Those are all ridiculous ideas. As is that guy who followed Carter.

No, we shouldn’t be adding to Mt. Rushmore it was a bad idea in the first place and this would just make it worse.

I could see adding Clinton and Lewinsky.  Or getting rid of Mt. Rushmore entirely.

The guy who invented air conditioning.  Yeah, laugh now, but come August, you’ll agree.

There’s already a movement.

We should keep it as is, but the only president who would have a plausible claim to being Rushmore-worthy is FDR.

THIS

on February 17, 2015

yeah, prolonging the Great Depression was really an awesome move.

Nope, we got the only decent Roosevelt President on there already.

on February 17, 2015

No, you gotta give FDR props.  He followed an inept Republican president who tanked the economy, and left his successor to clean up the mess (see also GW Bush, 2009)

on February 18, 2015

Exactly… Republican President gets us into a horrible economic mess. Democratic President comes in and rescues the economy. (while Republicans complain about how long it takes to fix the mess they made… lol.)  Rinse & Repeat.

on February 18, 2015

…and I’m not just hating on Republicans… Two of my favorite Presidents were Republicans… Lincoln and Teddy Roosevelt… and Eisenhower was not bad… we should return to his tax rates… Conservative heads would collectively explode… ha ha.
…but the current state of the GOP is the absolute scum-scraping worst.

Just so you know Reagan (Rep.) had to clean up Jimmy Carter (Dem.) mess. Reagan’s tax reform policies resulted in the largest peacetime economic boom in American history and nearly 35 million more jobs. So I don’t know what your talking about, and Bush was hit with 9/11 if you forgot so of course his spending will be high and the economy took a big hit. Besides it seems that the Democrats tax reforms seem to hurt the poor more than the rich since these reforms usually have loopholes for companies to get away with less taxes (if any). These loopholes are added because politicians are funded by these companies so you can look at them as favors.

Leave it. Make a new monument somewhere else with more modern presidents if you want. But it will be a shitstorm figuring it out. Note that Rushmore was created before the internet. Just sayin’.

Mount Rushmore should be taken down. That land and mountain belong to native Americans. Rushmore was built by a big hit thought he was a smart patriot. He wasn’t.

That mountain represents GOOD presidents that have done revolutionary things. Obama has done Many things that make him unworthy of having his face carved on the mountain. He Doubled the Us debt more than any president he has done in the past, He has condemn his opponents as racists, he has divided the country by calling some of his non supporters racist, created obamacare (nuff said), and left the middle east in a shit storm. pulling out all the soldiers is a good thing for the families, but instead of leaving a few behind to keep watch, no one was able to foresee the massive destruction the middle east was heading to
